Turning the ferrule stations.

An easy to forget little detail.  Slide on the winding check before glueing the female ferrule.  It will not go over the ferrule, nor the bottom end.

Marking.  Right line is the length of the barrel, left line is the tabs portion.  They get a different treatment.

All marked.

The work is done on the metal lathe. Our ferrule is a size 14 (14/64th).  The station is turned to the first line mostly with sand paper to about 14/64th to get a tight fit, then the dimensions flare up under the tab portion. Patience, patience, patience!  Proceed slowly, try the fit often.

Ready to glue.
