Next is a quick hand binding with a single string.  I started doing this with the previous rod.  A trick I learned during the rodmakers gathering I attended in Ontario last May.  It allows to hold the strips together while I remove the tape.  Dried up tape covered in glue is not fun to sand, so you want it of.  I used to remove it at the binder, which required stops and go.  Simple little trick that makes the process easier.

     

 

 

     

 

 Now it’s off to the four-string binder, wrapping end to end without stopping.

     

 

     

 

 

Spending a few minutes getting rid of bends and twists.  Perfection is not achieved at this stage.  There is not a lot of time as I can feel the glue is setting.
