This is my planing form to plane the strips to their final dimensions.
It has a tapered and adjustable 60 degree groove on each side. One groove is wider for butt strips and the other is smaller for mid and tip sections.
The numbers in black are the final dimensions of the strips at each 5 inch station.
I will plane the butt strips first and 0.111 is the station 45 on the chart, the tip end of the butt section. I will plane to final dimensions next week to let the strips regain moisture and swell up a bit as they shrunk during tempering. But I can start planing in a day or two and stop at 0.015 inch above final dimensions - numbers in green.
Our first dimension is set at 0.126 inch.
