John Perry holds a "Silver Bass" or freshwater drum taken on the Red River at Lockport. Spring is a great time to ply the waters of the Red. Nearly anything can be expected on the end of your rod at Lockport! Bright flies and careful wading on the East side usually produce a silver bass, a channel cat, carp, walleye, sauger, or perhaps some exotics like white bass or sturgeon!

Laketrout / Splake

Laketrout fly fishing at its finest.

"My first flyfishing experience from my pontoon boat on Camp Lake was absolutely incredible. The freedom to silently roam and flyfish this beautiful lake was so exhilarating together with the loons and their young. Caught three rainbows the largest being 18 inches. Then I tied into a totally huge fish that ran me into the backing but I was determined to land it as I was broken off the night before. The problem was I could not move it – finally after 15 minutes I got it in the net (half-in) what a thrill, a 26 1/2 in. Splake - I was exhausted." Rick Collins

When you're caught up in the amazing fishing, don't forget to look around and enjoy the beautiful surroundings that Manitoba has to offer.

Alfred tired from fighting the fish or was the fishing a little slow that day?  We may never know.

Wonder if this what they had in mind?  Stream fishing?
