Lake Trout Report with Caleb Hasler
Be sure to join us at the Riverview Community Centre on Tuesday, April 23rd at 7:00 PM with Caleb Hasler who will be reporting on lake trout and other research. Professor Hasler is a fish biologist with the University of Winnipeg. His lab studies fish behaviour and physiology, looks at biological effects of catch-and-release angling, and researches novel non-physical barriers to reduce the movements of aquatic invasive species. It promises to be a very interesting evening.
It's time to start thinking about our first outing of the year in the Turtle Mountains May 10-12. We'll be fishing Bower and William lakes. Bower is known for its big rainbows, and William for its browns. Both are great for float tubes. Gas motors are OK on Bower, just electrics on William. Most of us stay at the Canadian Wilderness Inn in Boissevain but you're responsible for making your own reservations. You can get more information on the outing here. If attending, please register here.
